Clarity is a big buzzword these days. There are businesses and influencers out there offering programs and courses and articles on how to gain clarity. It can mean different things to different people. Clarity in communication, clarity about your life’s purpose, clarity of your vision and goals.
In today’s episode, we talk about clarity – what it really means, why it’s so important, and how to get it.
Show Notes:
- The dictionary defines clarity as “the quality of being certain or definite” or “the quality of being coherent and intelligible.” Both of these are going to be crucial for you to be successful in achieving your goals.
- Clarity is important because:
- It replaces stress with confidence and peace of mind
- Guides you in making decisions
- Motivates you to reach and achieve goals
- Clarity is an ongoing practice, the more you learn, the more information you have to become even more clear.
- To help gain clarity:
- Find a quiet private space to focus on what you’d like to gain clarity on
- Eliminate clutter and distractions – phones, computers, music, TVs, people
- Get quiet, close your eyes, and meditate for five minutes, or try deep breathing exercises
- Write/journal about what you’re looking for clarity on. If you’re working on something big like you’re life’s purpose, try writing about something that lights you up and energizes you, or motivates or inspires you. Skip worrying about spelling, grammar, or anyone reading it.
- Ask questions, lots of what, why, how, when to come to your version of clarity. Now if you told someone else, would they know exactly what you expected as an outcome?
- Be prepared to be 100% honest with yourself. Ditch the fear and find absolute certainty. This is clarity.
